There are a number of new features on the website. Look here for the lastest news and events. Search the Calendar in the left side banner for the dates and times of events. Educational Opportunities For Our Members  We were thrilled to see just over 130 participants at the ZingTRAIN Seminar held on Thursday, September 11, 2008!  The extremely low cost for this amazing seminar was $35.00 per person, and included lunch.  Our March 2009 seminar was well attended by members wanting to learn more about Northern Initiatives and services they offer.  The June 18, 2009 Pure Michigan Hospitality Training Seminar planning is already underway, and will help business owners and employees better understand the importance of going above and beyond to help customers, as well as why we want to give visitors a reason to keep coming back to Newaygo County.  TO REGISTER, Please Call Lori at (231) 924-9298, Ext. 13.  This seminar is one of many that was made possible through a generous grant from the Fremont Area Community Foundation.

Equinox '09 An Adventure For All Ages  The Chambers of Commerce of Newaygo County have been collaborating since spring of 2008 to plan for a new county-wide event celebrating quiet sports. If you have ever wanted to try biking, hiking, paddling, rafting, horseback riding, high ropes, and other related outdoor activities, this is the perfect opportunity for you! Please check the Festivals & Events tab for more details and a link to the website with Equinox information.

Please Welcome Our Newest Members:

Most Grant Frontier Festival 2009 entry forms have been added to the website, and can be found on the Online Documents tab.  We are still in need of at least 55 more volunteers to hold Festival in August 2009, so please contact the Chamber office for information or contact Jo Allerding directly at 834-0462 or by e-mail to joallerding8@aol.com .  As a reminder, high school students are eligible for community service hours when working at Festival.  It's a fun way to get those required hours taken care of!

The Grant Area Chamber is collaborating with the Newaygo County Convention & Visitors Bureau to identify and compile a list of our local talent resources trained in the film industry.  The individuals would include both professionally trained as well as students enrolled in training for a variety of film industry areas.  The West Michigan Tourist Association is the home of the West Michigan Film Office, and we are pleased to be on the list for film productions that are interested in taking a look at what Grant has to offer.  Please share with us the contact information of these individuals via e-mail to the address above.
